MusicalDNA was developed by IWPD Management GmbH, ETH Zurich, SDSC, Kalaidos Music University and integrated into the Appassio.com platform.

The development of MusicalDNA was segmented into two critical phases:

• Phase A focused on Natural Music Making, using expert and computational analysis to define what constituted natural performances. This phase prepared the ground for our artificial intelligence to learn.
• Phase B, Styles, honed in on distinguishing the unique interpretation styles of grandmasters. This method offers a thorough study that enables young pianists to get to know how their performances either match or differ from those of these legendary musicians.
